Right, I’m just going to say this straight out…I am boiling…with temper!!

I’ve watched Dolores graft this past year like an absolute machine. She’s out every day walking 23–24 thousand steps, rain, hail, or shine. She’s lost 5½ stone through nothing but hard work, willpower, and a good dose of Slimming World.

No injections.

No fads.

No shortcuts.

Just pure grit, and a pair of trainers

But here’s what really boils my blood — instead of being supported and celebrated, she gets snide wee comments, and mostly from other women.

Seriously? What happened to cheering each other on? When did it become normal to drag someone down just because they’re doing well?

This woman has been through breast cancer, fought for her life, and still gets up every single day to put in the miles. That’s strength. That’s discipline. That’s something to be proud of.

And yet, instead of saying “Fair play, you’ve absolutely smashed it,” some folk would rather find excuses — as if her success was down to a Jab.

Here’s a wee thought 💭 — maybe instead of assuming it’s down to some magic jab, give credit where it’s due. Maybe she’s just outworked you, she certainly outworked me

Women should be lifting each other up, not tearing each other down because someone’s shining a bit brighter. There’s enough negativity in the world without adding more to it.

So aye — this one’s for my DC, the walking weapon, who proves what can be done with grit, heart, and a good pair of trainers.

Keep doing your thing, Dolores. The right people see it. The rest can keep talking while you keep walking.

Now, about that photo we posted on Saturday night…a moment of happiness for DC and ME in a room full of warriors….

We’d been at the Breast Mates Newry celebration dinner — a brilliant night surrounded by some of the strongest, most inspiring women you could ever meet.

Afterwards, we headed to the Kilmorey Arms, where Dolores and I carried on the craic — laughing, chatting, and soaking it all in.

It was one of those rare nights where you just feel lifted — everyone in that room in Newry knew the battles that had been fought and the scars that had been earned. Dolores was glowing, being celebrated for her amazing weight loss, her determination, and her unstoppable willpower. She was loving it, from a group of woman, who have faced cancer and come out the other end….in fairness I was in awe of them…

Then whilst in the KA came the gut punch. Dolores was told that someone in Kilkeel was running their mouth, saying the only reason Dolores had lost the weight was because she’s on Mounjaro. – That person is lucky I don’t know their name!!

To that uninformed clown, let me make this clear: even if she wanted to take it, she can’t. Dolores is a breast cancer survivor, and Mounjaro is not safe for anyone who’s had cancer. Maybe learn the facts before you start talking nonsense.

Me, if I was brave enough to take it, I would look like a porcupine, I would have that many needles sticking out of me…but that’s a story for another day.

Because what you did, with one ignorant wee comment, was try to take away something Dolores has worked unbelievably hard for. Every single step, every single day, for over a year.

It’s frustrating, isn’t it? In a world full of people who’ve already been through enough, why tear someone down for doing well?

Dolores doesn’t need shortcuts, sympathy, or validation from anyone. She’s done this all on her own — walked her way back to health, strength, and confidence, one determined step at a time.

And here’s the truth: no rumour, no whisper, and no bitter comment will ever take that away.

How do you like her Now!!!!
How do you like her Now!!!!

Sunday Shenanigans (a.k.a. Recovery Mode) 🍻

Well… it’s Sunday, and I’m currently sitting here trying to piece together the events of last night with Dolores — and let me tell you, it was a night. We kicked things off at the Beer Hut Brewing Co
