When 'Common Ground' just ain't that Common.......

If you haven't heard there is a new coffee shop in town, Common Ground, located on the grounds of Kilkeel Garden Centre on Newcastle Road, just on the edge of Kilkeel..and if you like coffee it is something else.

Dolores and I are big fans, the coffee is lovely, and the food is fantastic, but if you are a caffeine junkie, you need to try the Nitro Coffee, OMG, never thought drinking cold coffee would give me such a buzz, but with it being nitrogen-infused, it produces a silky smooth beverage...that tastes amazing... I normally need sugar in my coffee, but not so with Nitro, it really brings out the flavour in the coffee and the blend is mild but with all the roasted goodness you would expect from quality coffee.

The team behind Common Ground, are great people and the staff are attentive and welcoming, in what is an extremely busy coffee shop, the seating is as you would expect of a high-end coffee house, in a chilled and relaxed environment.

Nitro Coffee

Typically made from cold brew coffee, nitro coffee is a beverage that has been infused with nitrogen gas, which gives the drink its name. Nitrogen gas, which is also used in varieties of beer like porters and stouts, creates small bubbles in the coffee, and gives the drink a thick and creamy texture. The nitrogen also forms a dense head that is similar to the head of a beer.

In addition to changing the texture of the drink, nitrogen also helps reduce some of the bitterness and acidity of the coffee, which makes it more palatable to non-coffee drinkers

I have been working my way through the menu, The fry is lovely and reasonably priced and the Pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup is to die for (Sorry no photo as I had it half eaten when DC mentioned a photo)
